Why buy a Japanese import in the UK?
Japan's domestic market sells specifications, trims and grades that were never offered in the UK. Tighter shaken (MOT) rules in Japan also mean even 20-year-old cars are often in remarkably good condition with low mileage and full service history. We source, ship, register, and warrant every car so you can buy with the same confidence as a UK-spec used car.
What we do
- Source from Japan auctions: USS, TAA, Aleado, JU, ZIP. Every car physically inspected by our agent in Japan and graded against the auction sheet before we bid.
- Manage shipping: Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) for road-legal cars, container for high-value or non-runners. Typical Japan to UK transit: 5-7 weeks.
- Handle customs: HMRC clearance, NOVA registration, 10% import duty and 20% VAT. All UK landing costs included in our advertised prices.
- DVLA registration: V55/5 application, IVA testing where required (cars under 10 years), UK reg and V5C log book within 4-6 weeks of arrival.
- Forensic history: Auction sheets translated, odometer cross-checked against shaken records, accident-grade verified.
